The first edition of “Nursing Interventions for the Critically Ill” has been exhausted. The response has been encouraging. It is hoped that the second edition too would receive equal encouragement from its readers.

Quite a few friends, doctors and nurses, especially from children’s hospitals, maternity hospitals and homes have expressed the need for having a ready reference in the essential and basic interventions for the gravely ill children and neonates. To meet this need an attempt has been made to include these interventions by adding two new chapters, one on Essential Interventions in commonly encountered problems of children and neonates and the other essential newborn care and management of LBW neonates.
